Founded by four women in 2013, Belloo Creative creates original new works fusing body and text. The Co-Artistic Directors of Belloo are Caroline Dunphy and Dr Katherine Lyall-Watson.
Belloo creates innovative, inclusive and experiential work including transcultural content. Belloo delivers content globally across artforms that inspire imagination, collaboration and change.
Belloo was the company in residence at Queensland Theatre (2019-2020).

MOTHERLAND
Motherland is a play about three remarkable women. Based on the incredible true story of Nell Tritton, a Brisbane socialite who married Russia’s deposed Prime Minister, Alexander Kerensky, Motherland is gripping contemporary theatre, weaving stories of belonging, love and loss.

HANAKO
HANAKO by Katherine Lyall-Watson and Caroline Dunphy is a hyper-realistic fantasy of a girl’s journey from a traditional Japanese Noh play into an east-west inspired future world. HANAKO premiered at the Brisbane Powerhouse as part of Brisbane Festival 2016.
HOUSE IN THE DUNES
House in the Dunes is a bilingual performance work & part of a long-term collaboration between theatre companies & artists from First Nations Australia, Australia, Japan & New Zealand. It’s a story of entrapment & an ode to the natural world in the looming threat of the climate emergency.
ROVERS
Rovers celebrates women’s lives and stories. Woven from true stories and wild machinations, this rigorous and poetic work resonates with audiences of all ages. Rovers is a contemporary comedy-drama and a nimble two-hander that celebrates the grit and daring of women trailblazers.
AKIRUNO
AKIRUNO is a transcultural, international collaboration between IDIOT SAVANT theatre company (Japan), Belloo Creative (Australia) and Good Company Arts (New Zealand). The work is an ecologically-focused, durational site work that draws in part from traditional Japanese folk tales.
