The Crab, The Lizard & The Upside-Down Girl

The Crab, The Lizard & The Upside-Down Girl

Belloo’s second work in development is The Crab, The Lizard & The Upside-Down Girl, a brand-new children’s and family production combining physical comedy, inventive visual storytelling and original music featuring didjeribone by Jake Fabila, a proud descendant of the Jabirr Jabirr people of the Kimberley region in Western Australia.

The work follows Crab (Benjin Maza) and Lizard, whose quiet seaside world is turned upside down by the arrival of a loud, adventurous Girl (Gina Tay Limpus). Together, they must navigate change, difference and the challenges facing the environment they call home.

Developed alongside First Nations artists and cultural advisors, the work invites young audiences into conversations about environmental change, care and collective responsibility through play, humour and imagination.

Many thanks to Redland Performing Arts Centre and the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland for their support.
